The locomotive will leave Lubango, pass through Bilala and end the journey in Moçâmedes. However, in order to show the best of the region, the train will make stops at the Fortress of São Fernando, the Hills of Curoca, the Station of Serra to see the viewpoint of Serra da Chela and Bibala to visit the inhabitants of the village.

Once the trip is over, passengers will make their way back by bus.

This is the first initiative of its kind to be undertaken in the region. The train will leave at 06h00 from Lubango, heading to Moçâmedes.

João Lopes, responsible for the travel agency, said in a statement to Angop that the company decided to go ahead with this initiative because it felt it was necessary to draw tourists' attention to the region: "With little tourist offer that we have, we need to present solutions so that when the tourist arrives in the province he has a variety of options. We're doing our part and the government should do its, creating basic conditions in the existing potential and attracting tourists".

João Lopes also indicated that the idea is to include this tourist train in a regular tourism package, on a monthly basis, or every two months. He also indicated that the itineraries may vary, hoping that the adhesion to the initiative will be great since in times of pandemic the tourist sector has been quite affected.

The package tour starting in Lubango, for adults, will cost 33,000 kwanzas, he said. Children between the ages of six and 12 will pay 21,000 kwanzas, while for children up to five the trip is free.

For trips starting in Moçâmedes, adults will pay 18,000 kwanzas and children between 6 and 12 will pay 12,000 kwanzas.

The price of the package, besides including the value of the trip, also includes an accident insurance.

The company, which has been in the tourism market for a year and a half, plans to take a total of 60 passengers for each trip, since a limit of 50 per cent of transport capacity must be met due to covid-19.
