Since last Monday the company has produced around 12 thousand masks. With the aim of strengthening the country's response to covid-19, the company aims to produce over 700 thousand masks per month.
Senir Mendonça, managing partner of the company, revealed that the masks will serve to strengthen the national market and the market of neighboring countries, saying that Namibia has already made an order.
According to the responsible, cited by Angop, the company expects, per month, to produce between 750 thousand to one million masks.
This initiative, which is working with its own funds, is the result of an investment of 500 thousand dollars: the money will be used to buy equipment and raw material, which according to Senir Mendonça, will be acquired in the Chinese market.
The masks are made with tissue-non-woven (TNT) polypropylene and have a filter with an efficiency of up to 99.5 percent that blocks the particles, he said, adding that the mask is also waterproof and has been tested in the laboratory.
The masks will begin to be marketed early next week, he said, adding that the factory has the collaboration of six workers.
