Country extends schedules for commerce, restaurants and transportation

The country will change the rules in force in the disaster situation from this Monday, extending the opening hours of shops and restaurants in Luanda, but postponing the opening of the bathing season to October 15.

The amendments were presented this Saturday by the Minister of State and Head of the Civil House of the President of the Republic, Adão de Almeida, and remain in force until 8 September.

The update of the public calamity measures, which will be in force from this Monday for a period of 30 days, may undergo further changes according to the evolution of the epidemiological situation, emphasized the governor.

There are also differences in the application of the rules in Luanda, the province most affected by the disease, compared to the rest of the territory.

Restaurants and similar are now allowed to operate from 6am to 9pm, limited to 50 percent of space capacity, while self-service is prohibited and take-away is allowed until 10pm.

Commercial establishments will be open between 07h00 and 19h00, with 50 percent of the workforce in Luanda and 75 percent in the rest of the country.

Public transport will be open until 10pm, with 50 per cent of the workforce in Luanda.

As for the start of the bathing season, which was scheduled for 15 August, it was postponed until 15 October.

Physical exercise is now possible between 05h30 and 20h00, done with physical distance and if it is individual it does not require the use of masks, no more than five people can be grouped, and fines are imposed between 10 and 15 thousand kwanzas to anyone who violates the rules.

Markets and street sales operate between 6am and 3pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and informal street markets are prohibited.

Meetings in Luanda province may only have a maximum of 50 people and occupy 50 percent of the room capacity, with cinemas in Luanda province still prohibited, as well as night clubs.

Religious services and celebrations are still forbidden in Luanda and in the municipality of Cazengo in Kwanza Norte, which has renewed its sanitary fences.

Home gatherings are allowed for a maximum of 15 people, and non-home festive gatherings are forbidden regardless of the number of participants. In the street, groups of more than ten people are forbidden.

Mototaxis can circulate between 6am and 10pm with mandatory use of a mask for motorcyclists and passengers, both subject to fines.

Public and private services will be available from 8 am to 3 pm, limited to 50 per cent of the workforce in Luanda and 75 per cent in the remaining provinces.

Face-to-face teaching activities remain suspended, but administrative and pedagogical services can operate with 50 per cent of the workforce.
