The Chairman of the Board of Directors (PCA) of ANPG, Paulino Jerónimo, speaking at the ceremony to award 205 scholarships – which took place this Monday and was presided over by Diamantino Azevedo, Minister of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas –, reported that the funding for the scholarships will be provided through social resources originating from oil concession contracts with risk, especially blocks 30, 44, 45 (controlled by Exxon), 49 and 50 (controlled by Chevron).

According to the CEO of the national concessionaire, who emphasized his clear pride in the young people chosen, they were the target of a rigorous, transparent and inclusive process, writes Angop.

Expressing great satisfaction with this initiative, Paulino Jerônimo said that the chosen students signed contracts during the event.

"The students were selected for this scholarship cycle, with contracts signed during the event, guaranteeing full financing of their studies", he said.

Addressing the scholarship recipients, the CEO reminded them that the continuation and success of the program depend on dedication, discipline and commitment to the principles of citizenship, writes Angop.

ANPG, he said, will continue to be committed, together with its partners, to expanding this initiative, converting Angola's natural resources into opportunities for the well-being of citizens.

On the occasion, he also mentioned that academic training is one of the bases of the national concessionaire's social responsibility policy and, thus, the aforementioned program reiterates the oil sector's commitment to Angola's social progress.

The Minister of Mineral Resources, speaking at the closing ceremony of the launch of the 'Okutanga' Scholarship Program, said that what is happening today is proof that the country believes in young people: "Young people, look around you. What is happening today is proof that Angola believes in you. This country needs your creativity, your determination, your desire to change everything. This is the time for us to be ambitious. To know how to plan, explore, create, lead. This is your time."
