According to a statement from the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication, to which VerAngola had access, in addition to the factories, the minister also visited Huawei's innovation and technological exhibition centers, "where all the multinational's equipment and services are exposed, to support Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) for the education, health, finance, mining, interior, agriculture, energy, water, fishing, transport, public administration, marine resources", among others.
The visit served to "get to know the production line of equipment and devices" of the Chinese multinational, considering the projects underway in the country for digital acceleration, namely the National Broadband Network Project, "as the backbone of the country's high-capacity telecommunications transport network, which will allow for improved access to the Internet, voice service, exchange of messages, sending and receiving of videos, audiovisual programs with the lowest latency and the National Cloud project that will allow the interconnection of all ministerial departments and public administration services and private companies", says the note.
Furthermore, according to the guardianship, last Thursday, the minister also witnessed the initialling of a memorandum between Angola Telecom and Huawei, which will enable the "preparation of conditions for increasing the country's mobile coverage through investment in telecommunications infrastructure".
The document will also enable "operators to extend voice and Internet service coverage to users, particularly in difficult-to-reach locations and thus achieve the mobile coverage targets established in the National Development Plan 2023-2027".
