According to a statement from the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication, to which VerAngola had access, this formalization marks "the beginning of a significant collaboration between both companies, aimed at promoting technological advances in the telecommunications sector and accelerating development digital in Angola".
Called Memorandum of Understanding in the Field of Training in Information Technologies and Business Management, and Joint Network Innovation, the memorandums "lay the foundations for comprehensive cooperation and open new opportunities for joint progress in the Angolan telecommunications sector".
Quoted in the statement, Samuel Chen, president of Huawei's Carrier Business Southern Africa Region said they were "extremely pleased" with the formalization of this partnership.
"We are extremely pleased to formalize this partnership with Angola Telecom. This is an important step for both companies, and we look forward to contributing even further to the advancement of the Telecommunications sector in Angola", he stated.
In turn, Adilson dos Santos, chairman of the Board of Directors (PCA) of Angola Telecom, considered that the signing of these memoranda "marks the beginning of a strategic collaboration between Angola Telecom and Huawei".
"We are confident that this partnership will significantly boost the progress of digital telecommunications in Angola," he added.
"This symbolic act reflects a mutual commitment to strengthening telecommunications infrastructure, promoting the development of local talent and fostering collaborative innovation", the note also reads.
The Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication, Mário Oliveira, was present at the event, having spoken "brief words of joy at the achievement of this agreement between both companies".
On the Angola Telecom side, its PCA, Adilson dos Santos, the executive administrator, Yuri da Silva, among other directors, were present. On the Huawei side, Samuel Chen was present, as well as Duan Duan, president of the Delivery and Service Department, António Hou, general director, and Ley Qian, deputy general director of Huawei Angola.
