These are the provinces of Luanda, Cunene, Moxico, Huambo, Huíla, Benguela and Uíge, according to the Government, in a statement to which VerAngola had access.

"The initiative will last until October this year and will initially cover seven provinces of the country: Luanda, Cunene, Moxico, Huambo, Huíla, Benguela and Uíge", the note reads.

Under the motto 'Make my life easier', the campaign aims to treat "diseases such as tumors, traumas and congenital malformations, with the expectation of operating on more than 300 patients out of a total of five thousand potential patients".

According to Angop, the surgical team has more than 200 professionals, such as anesthetists, surgeons, stretcher bearers, etc.

Leonardo Inocêncio, Secretary of State for Hospital Area, said that the initiative will reduce expenses related to the transfer of patients between provinces and abroad, as well as contribute to reducing the waiting list for surgeries.

According to the person in charge, cited by Angop, one of the objectives is to carry out the diagnosis, provide treatment and monitoring of these patients, in addition to identifying and referring them to institutions early, adding that on the first day of the initiative, the list of patients to consultations at the aforementioned hospital reached an average of 150, ensuring that the hospital has the conditions for the team to act and solve the problems of different people.

Carlos Zeca, general director of Josina Machel, informed that operations in Luanda will be carried out at Josina Machel and Anzacot de Menezes.

He also explained that the campaign aims to reduce the number of patients with maxillofacial problems. "Many of these citizens have never had contact with doctors and some have been on the waiting list for a long time, which is why the hospital management decided to carry out this campaign massively, to reduce the number of patients with maxillofacial problems", he said, cited by Angop.
