According to the National Statistics Institute (INE), this phase will cover the provinces of Luanda, Cunene, Bengo, Bié, Cuando Cubango, Lunda Norte and Uíge.

INE informs – in a short video, which VerAngola had access to – that this operation aims to "test the data collection instruments and methodology for the General Census that will take place on July 19, 2024".

"Uniformed and identified census takers will go from door to door to obtain the necessary information", warns INE, appealing to citizens to receive them well, since "information is very important for decision-making".

Remember that the start date of the pilot census was changed from May to July. The initial date of the pilot exercise was scheduled for May 15th, but ended up being changed to July 19th.

At the end of one of the working meetings of the Multisectoral Commission for the Support of the 2024 Census, at the end of last month, the commission's spokesman, Hernany Pena Luís, referred that the technical and access conditions for carrying out the pilot census were created.

Also on the occasion, the official, quoted by Jornal de Angola, indicated that the exercise will involve 570 cartographers, 114 drivers, among other services.

According to Jornal de Angola, the exercise will be marked with an opening ceremony for the pilot census, to take place in the capital.
