According to a brief note from the Government of the Province of Luanda (GPL), to which VerAngola had access, preparations for the pilgrimage dominated the audience that the governor of Luanda, Manuel Homem, granted this Monday to the Bishop of the Diocese of Viana, Dom Emilio Sumbelelo.

"The preparations for the pilgrimage to Muxima, which will take place from September 1 to 3, were the basis of the audience granted today [Monday], July 17, by the Provincial Governor of Luanda, Manuel Gomes da Conceição Homem, to the Bishop of the Diocese of Viana, Dom Emílio Sumbelelo", reads the note.

The GPL also reveals that more than 2000 pilgrims are expected in the village of Muxima.

"I went to the Provincial Government of Luanda for two reasons, to salute the Governor of Luanda for everything he has been doing for the benefit of the population of my Diocese and to hold a service meeting. linked to the pilgrimage to Muxima, which will take place from the 1st to the 3rd of September of the current year", said Dom Emílio Sumbelelo, quoted in another GPL note, which VerAngola had access to.

In turn, Manuel Homem – in statements to the press, quoted by Angop, at the end of the meeting – said that they recognized the focal topics of the government and the church in order to ensure the follow-up of the necessary activities to respond to the height of the national domain event, having also identified that there are matters from the prism of health services, transport, sound and insurance that the two parties must articulate.

On the occasion, the governor also indicated that the meeting carried out a survey of what the executive has been developing in recent years in favor of the referred pilgrimage, writes Angop.
