PR wants IGAE to “follow up” on the visibility it has gained in recent years

The new inspector general of the State administration, Ângelo de Barros da Veiga Tavares, took office this Monday. On the occasion, the President of the Republic asked the new inspector to “follow up” the visibility that the institution has gained in recent years.

:

"In the specific case of the Inspectorate General of State Administration (IGAE), this institution has gained visibility in recent years, gained great importance, has been able to fulfill its responsibilities, so what we expect from the new inspector general is that it follows up on this trend is already a reality," said the head of state, quoted by Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA).

In addition to Ângelo de Barros da Veiga Tavares, João Lourenço also swore in the deputy governor of the National Bank of Angola (BNA), Maria Juliana de Carvalho Van Dúnem de Fontes Pereira, and the executive administrator of the Board of Directors of the BNA, Marília de Fátima Trindade Viana Poças.

With regard to BNA staff, the President of the Republic said that this new team "perhaps ends up being an advantage", although they are "old staff" of the institution. "For the deputy governor of the BNA and the executive administrator, the governor took office relatively recently, so it turns out to be a new team, although they are all former bank staff, but in the positions they now occupy, therefore, they end up constituting a new team, which may end up being an advantage", he said, quoted by RNA.

And he added: "What he had to say about the BNA was said on the occasion of the inauguration of the governor of the BNA. Once again I wish you much success".

In turn, Ângelo de Barros da Veiga Tavares, left the guarantee that he will collaborate to promote good governance.

"Every citizen should feel like a general inspector of the State, especially civil servants, due to their duty to alert the authorities whenever they become aware of illicit acts in compliance with norms and procedures", he said, quoted by Angop.
