According to a statement from Endiama, which VerAngola had access to, the clinical director of Clínica Sagrada Esperança, Esmael Tomás, said that the clinic will have "in the near future a new building built from scratch, to better serve its users, employees and collaborators".
The official was speaking last Friday, under the heading of a financial agreement between the clinic and the IFC, for the construction of the hospital complex that will enable "the expansion of quality health services in Angola".
According to Esmael Tomás, the contract could start soon and will be carried out by the construction company Teixeira Duarte, and the infrastructure, the note advances, "will have a capacity of 140 beds, emergency rooms, laboratories, among others".
For his part, Sérgio Pimenta informed that the financing for the referred work is budgeted at 72 million dollars, "to be disbursed in stages by the International Finance Corporation, an institution linked to the World Bank".
On the occasion, the vice-president of the IFC for Africa explained that, of this amount, the institution "will make available 28.5 million dollars directly, while the remaining amount (43.5 million dollars) will be mobilized from national and international banks".
The document signing ceremony was attended by the Secretary of State for Public Health, Carlos Pinto de Sousa and the chairman of the Management Board of Rede-CSE, Rui Pinto, the note also mentions.
