According to a communiqué from the Ministry of Health, to which VerAngola had access, the minister – who was speaking to the press this Saturday at the end of a visit "to verify in loco the degree of execution of the work" – said that the contract is in " accelerated pace", thus giving "guarantees" that it will be concluded in November.
"The minister said that the accelerated pace of the works, started in 2021, guarantees that they will end in November", reads in the statement.
The holder of the Health portfolio considered the moment as "crucial", at a time "when physical execution is already around 70 percent".
Located in the urban district of Zango IV and to be built in a perimeter of 25 thousand square meters, the hospital, according to the minister, will have a "capacity of more than 300 beds, 150 of which for pediatrics, whose services will be guaranteed by 1300 professionals".
"Sílvia Lutucuta pointed out that the health unit will have all medical/surgical services, with emphasis on hemodialysis, orthopedics, surgery, orthotraumatology, gynecology and obstetrics, pediatrics and intensive care", reads the guardianship note, which adds which will also include "medical specialties gastroenterology, dermatology, ophthalmology, maxillofacial, among others".
As for the staff, Sílvia Lutucuta said that "more health specialists are completing their training" and the department "already has doctors with vast experience who will ensure the functioning of the health unit, whose action will not only be in the assistance aspect, but also in the components of training and scientific research".
