In order to carry out this production expansion, the company submitted a proposal – in 2021 – to the Public Tender for the Privatization of the 3rd Vacancy of Industrial Units installed in the Special Economic Zone (ZEE), namely to the factory until then designated 'Betonar '. The proposal was the winner, and the aforementioned industrial unit was awarded to Probetão for the value of 1,600,000,000.00 kwanzas in February 2022.
Complying with all contractual and legal deadlines resulting from the award, Probetão has already developed the actions and investments foreseen for the reactivation of the referred unit. Although the high maintenance and reconditioning needs of the main production equipment were an obstacle, Probetão has already started the first productions in the new unit.
In a statement sent to VerAngola, the company says that this industrial unit will "complement and expand the company's production capacity and product portfolio".
It should be noted that Probetão's product range is the widest in the sector, organized by business units: Artefacts; Infrastructures; Flooring and coatings; Pre-stress; Reinforced concrete. All of them are reinforced with productive equipment with this acquisition.
In addition to reinforcing the existing capacity, Probetão also adds with this acquisition a new Heavy Prefabrication business unit, intended for the production of large-scale reinforced concrete elements for large public works.
In this way, Probetão reinforces its position in the sector as the company with the greatest production capacity, the widest product portfolio and the greatest know-how.

In parallel with the acquisition of the new unit, the company has already hired more than 50 new employees since the beginning of the year, including civil engineers and quality technicians.
