Recreativo Caála coach dies due to complications from covid-19

Recreativo da Caála coach David Dias died this Thursday in Luanda, after two cardiac arrests, due to acute respiratory failure, as a result of covid-19, announced the club president, Horácio Mosquito.

The former Torreense player, Juventude de Lisboa and FC Maia, from Portugal, was part of the 13 team members who tested positive for the new coronavirus in June.

In the Recreativo da Caála squad, three coaches, a physiotherapist, a member of the security area at the club's headquarters and eight soccer players were diagnosed with covid-19.

As coach, David Dias, 51, also coached Progresso Sambizanga and Santos FC, in addition to his spell in England.
