Industry sector innovates and produces galvanized metals 100 percent made in Angola

A pioneer in the hot galvanizing process in Angola, Galvostahl, an Anglobal brand, bets on the rehabilitation of the industry with a direct impact on the national economy.

Under the 2019-2022 Privatization Program (PROPRIV), Anglobal - an Angolan-owned engineering company - acquired two units in the Luanda-Bengo Special Economic Zone.

The objectives are clear, in the words of Victor Lima, CEO of Anglobal: "To modernize, dynamize and reinvest in the sector, investing in innovation, training, qualified labor and offering a service of quality and excellence".

In a statement sent to VerAngola, the company also states that it wants to contribute to job creation and the rapid development of the country's infrastructure, eliminating dependence on imports.

Galvanizing is an ally of the world industry against corrosion. Currently, it is estimated that an industrialized country loses around 3.5 percent of its GDP in the cost of corrosion, which can result in losses of millions of dollars. One of the best methods for mitigating corrosion is galvanizing, explains the company.

This process is vital for the durability of metallic materials used in various sectors such as transport (cars, trailers, railways, etc.), agriculture, construction, foundations, hardware, piping, energy, communication towers, among others.

Galvanized steel is one of the oldest building and manufacturing materials in widespread use and is currently the most recycled material in the world.

More than two out of three tons of steel are made from recycled materials, and up to 95 percent of some types of steel (the steel used in automobiles, for example) is reused.

Anglobal operates in the telecommunications and energy services sector with solutions in equipment, operation and maintenance. It is headquartered in Benguela and has an office in Luanda. It has more than 600 employees and is present in 18 provinces. It is also present in São Tomé, Cape Verde and Portugal.
