Covid-19: Angola announces 44 new cases, two deaths and 51 recovered

Angola notified, in the last 24 hours, 44 new cases of covid-19, two deaths and 51 people recovered from the disease, according to the epidemiological bulletin of the National Directorate of Public Health.

The cases were identified in Moxico (12), Luanda (10), Lunda Sul (7), Namibe (7), Zaire (7) and Benguela (1), with ages between 3 months and 95 years, being 3 male and 12 female.

In this period, two women died, aged 70 and 81, in Huila and Lunda Sul, and 51 people, aged between 5 and 57, recovered from the disease.

The laboratories processed 1082 samples by RT-PCR, with the accumulated total reaching 794,768 tests.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Angola totals 41.780 cases, of which 35.474 have recovered from the disease, 5322 are active, including two in critical condition and ten in serious condition, and 984 people have died from the disease

There are still 150 hospitalized patients and 163 people are in institutional quarantine.

The covid-19 pandemic has caused at least 4,156,164 deaths worldwide, among more than 193,687,980 cases of infection with the new coronavirus, according to the most recent report by Agence France-Presse.

The respiratory disease is caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, detected in late 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China, and currently with variants identified in countries such as the United Kingdom, India, South Africa, Brazil and Peru.
