Minister for Industry and Trade assures that there is no disruption of food

The country is not out of food stock. The guarantee was given this Tuesday by the Minister of Industry and Trade, Victor Fernandes, who stressed that for this reason there is no reason for price speculation.

:

"At the moment there is no objective reason for the price increase. There is of course a price change due to inflation that is perfectly normal in the functional market, but not for the dizzying and speculative price increase," he said in an interview with TPA.

The holder of the Industry and Commerce folder stressed that the entities that inspect the process, together with the police, are attentive and have orders to act according to the law in case there is speculation.

Victor Fernandes also considered that the country is capable of making national production grow, provided that imports of basic necessities cease to exist and that investments in Angolan production become a reality.

"The first step will be to stop importing," he says, and gives the example: "The criteria for attracting investment may bring American companies, the largest importers of chicken, to Angola to produce the chickens, thus ceasing to import that product".

About the basic basket products, the minister argued that it should be rethought and should be added products raised in the country, thus reducing costs and imports.
