In a press note sent to Lusa, the FAF, which says "not to be unaware of the chaos" that the new coronavirus brought to football, says that the increase in cases of covid-19 in the country "implies uncertainty regarding the practice of sports activity" .
According to the FAF, the rescheduling of the draw date is dependent on an opinion from the multisectoral commission for the Prevention and Combat of covid-19 in the light of a biosafety and sports infrastructure protocol prepared by the agency.
The Angolan Football Federation initially scheduled the draw of Girabola 2020/21 for 8 July, later rescheduled for 29 July, this Tuesday, and now postpones it without a date, keeping, however, as "indicative date" the 3rd October for the start of the race.
The governing body of football in the country also keeps the club's registration dates, which started on July 1st and run until August 28th, and the field inspection period, from July 20th to August 23rd.
The club meeting is scheduled for 20 August.
However, the press reports that the new postponement of the draw for the Girabola 2020/21 stems from an "arm wrestling" between the FAF and the clubs that defend "clear definition" of the draw date, taking into account African competitions (Afrotaças ).
