Among the new cases, six are female and 12 male, aged between 14 and 69, the minister said during the daily epidemiological assessment in Luanda.

A 72-year-old patient, who was in critical condition, died at the Viana field hospital and "had other comorbidities," the minister said.

In total, Angola has 950 cases, including 41 deaths and 667 active.

Of the hospitalized patients, 15 are in severe condition and eight are in critical condition with assisted ventilation, of which two require hemodialysis.

As for molecular biology tests, 447 samples were processed in the last 24 hours, making an accumulation of 59,052 of these tests, known as RT-PCR.

"We continue to do serological testing of drivers, contacts of positive cases and suspicious cases that come to the health units," stressed the ruler, adding that another 570 tests were performed.

Sílvia Lutucuta also indicated that the Chinese technical team responsible for supplying and setting up the laboratories is already in Angola, which will increase the capacity for 6000 more RT-PCR tests and 6000 more serological tests, in the provinces of Luanda, Uíje, Lunda Norte and Huambo.

The passengers from Brazil have already been discharged and are now being accompanied by passengers who came from Portugal, and are expected to be discharged at the end of this week.
