The authorities set up the fence - which covered more than 80 families - after the owner of a commercial establishment, widely frequented by the neighbourhood residents, had been linked to a positive case of covid-19.

According to Angop, residents who had been confined for 27 days described that phase as tormenting. However, they applauded the work done by the health authorities and the Government, stressing the fact that they received basic food baskets and medical and psychological support.

Filomena Wilson, provincial health director, quoted by Angop, said the province is doing more than 1000 rapid tests, prioritizing members of government, public officials and fence residents.

For now, the fence in the Posse neighborhood will continue, she said.

Kwanza Norte has so far registered 16 positive cases of covid-19. Cazengo, the municipality of Kwanza Norte, is the second region in the country most affected by the new coronavirus, after the capital.
