The new cases are all from the province of Luanda (Ingombota, Maianga, Belas and Viana), aged between 5 and 68 years, 11 male and five female, said Franco Mufinda, in the daily epidemiological balance.
This Tuesday, 2400 people were screened in the context of mass testing (serological tests) at the National Assembly and the Palace of Justice in Luanda.
In the National Assembly, of the 1200 people tested, 51 were reactive, with 42 presenting immunity (with presence of the IgG biomarker in the blood), six in the active phase of the disease (IgM biomarker) and three people in transitory phase (IgG/IgM).
In the Palace of Justice, 60 reactive persons were found among the 1200 tested, including 51 with IgG, five with IgM and four in transient phase (IgG/IgM)
These data are not conclusive, stressed the Secretary of State, adding that these cases will have to be confirmed by molecular-based tests known as RT-PCR.
Angola thus adds up to a total of 541 cases, with 26 deaths, 118 recovered and 397 assets.
To date 41,919 samples have been processed, of which 541 were positive, 36,520 were negative and the rest are in process.
In terms of rapid tests, 5139 of which 590 reactive have been performed, which means that four out of every hundred people screened express that they have been exposed to the virus and at least 80 per cent with "immunity already built up".
The covid-19 pandemic has already claimed more than 573,000 lives and infected more than 13.12 million people in 196 countries and territories, according to a report by the French agency AFP.
The disease is transmitted by a new coronavirus detected at the end of December in Wuhan, a city in central China.
