According to statements by Luanda's municipal health director, Manuel Duarte Varela, more than a thousand tests were carried out, with 22 people expressing the probability of having been in contact with the virus.
The official explained that, of the total, 18 people showed IGG results - which means that the virus was eliminated from the body by the immune system - while four people showed IGM results, which means that the disease will be active.
Citizens with the result that the disease may be active - all employees of parliament - still need confirmation through an RT-PCR molecular test. Employees were directed to quarantine centers where they will wait for the final results.
According to Angop, the deputies will have adhered in a large percentage to the tests, applauding the measure of the Interministerial Commission for Prevention and Combating Covid-19.
Congressman David Mendes said that the initiative is “commendable” since thousands of people circulated in parliament and the results should suggest a reinforcement of biosafety measures.
Amadeu Amorim said that "it is an important attitude and there is every need to take the test to know the real situation in the law house".
Parliamentarian Boaventura Tchitapa also praised the initiative, highlighting the role of deputies and the need to be in constant work, which makes them a risk group.
