The information was released this Tuesday by the deputy coordinator of the Multisectoral Pandemic Response Commission, Gimi Nhunga. The samples obtained will now be sent for molecular testing in Luanda, in order to confirm whether the cases are really positive for covid-19.

According to Angop, these are two citizens, both over 30 years of age, and with family and work connections to Lunda Norte. The suspects have already been isolated in one of the institutional quarantine centers, awaiting the final result of the samples.

These same citizens were already in home quarantine for having violated the Luanda sanitary fence. Their contacts are being investigated by health authorities, it was advanced.

Taking into account the provenance of the cases, it was decided by the authorities to implement a sanitary enclosure in the mining project of Txinguvo - where one of the suspects worked - and in one of the buildings in the centrality of Mussungue, where the citizens were quarantined at home.

The management of the mining project has already been informed, having been instructed to create conditions for carrying out rapid tests in the coming days, if the cases are confirmed as positive.

The country has recorded, so far, 525 positive cases of covid-19, with 118 recovered, 381 active and 26 deaths.
