In a statement sent to VerAngola, TAAG reported that "the latest aircraft in the fleet, called D2-TAI, was given the traditional name 'Curoca' in homage", having landed this Monday at Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport, "in Montreal (Canada), with a technical stopover in Faro (Portugal)".

According to the Chairman of the Executive Committee of TAAG, the incorporation of this third aircraft is "another firm step" towards "building a modern airline".

"We are consolidating TAAG in a new era marked by customer focus, operational efficiency and connectivity. The incorporation of the third Airbus A220-300 represents another firm step towards building a modern, competitive airline focused on strengthening connections in strategic African markets", said Nelson Rodrigues de Oliveira, Chairman of the Executive Committee of TAAG.

With the addition of this aircraft, the note says, the company will reinforce "its operational capacity and service availability, providing customers and passengers with an on-board experience marked by comfort and convenience."

"The Airbus A220-300 is recognized for its versatility, fuel efficiency, reduced carbon footprint, and a modern interior, which includes more spacious cabins and built-in technology," it adds.

This model has a total capacity for 137 passengers: 90 in economy class, 35 in premium economy and 12 in business class.

"Currently, the Airbus A220-300 has served multiple TAAG destinations on the African continent, namely Windhoek (Namibia), Johannesburg, Cape Town (South Africa) and the Portuguese-speaking world, specifically, Maputo (Mozambique) and São Tomé (São Tomé and Príncipe)", reads the note, which also informs that the arrival of this aircraft is part of TAAG's 2024-2029 Strategic Plan and aims to "optimize operations, improve business profitability, and solidify the company's position as a reference player in Africa".
