The flag carrier, in a statement sent to VerAngola, informs that the renewal of the agreement took place during the 81st annual general meeting of IATA.
"TAAG Linhas Aéreas de Angola and Turkish Airlines renewed their Interline Agreement and Special Prorate Agreement (SPA) during the 81st annual general meeting of IATA, held in New Delhi, India, from 1 to 3 June 2025", reads the note.
The document was signed by Nelson Rodrigues de Oliveira, Chairman of the Executive Committee of TAAG, and Bilal Ekşi, CEO of Turkish Airlines, "reaffirming the long-standing cooperation between the two entities".
"This agreement will continue to offer more agile travel options for passengers connecting between the networks of both airlines, improving connectivity between Africa, Europe, Asia and other regions," the statement said, adding that "in addition to the renewal, both parties engaged in strategic discussions, exploring new opportunities for collaboration."
"Topics discussed included the potential launch of a codeshare partnership, cooperation in cargo transportation and technical assistance in areas such as maintenance and flight operations," TAAG reported.
In addition, the officials also "agreed to establish a regular dialogue between the two airlines to deepen bilateral cooperation and promote new synergies for mutual growth."
