"For the first time, we will have complementary diagnostic imaging tests, hemodialysis services, and ICUs for newborns and adults in the province of Uíge," said the minister, quoted in a statement from the Ministry of Health, to which VerAngola had access.
On the occasion, the minister expressed satisfaction with the construction of this hospital, which is approximately 35 percent complete.
"The Minister of Health expressed her satisfaction with the quality of the work, highlighting that it will bring great innovations to the province of Uíge, including differentiated assistance of medium and high complexity," says the note.
In addition, the future hospital unit will also offer inpatient services.
"The new provincial hospital will offer inpatient services and ensure better working conditions for health professionals, as well as better care for patients, without the need for transfer to Luanda," says the statement, which adds that the Uíge General Hospital "will be delivered at the end of the first half of 2026."
In addition to Uíge, the Minister of Health also visited the construction site of the Zaire General Hospital.
"The Zaire General Hospital, with a planned capacity of 290 beds, will have its completion deadline extended to the last quarter of this year," the statement said.
Regarding this hospital, the Minister "recognized the urgency of speeding up the work, confirming that the works will not be completed in August as initially planned."
"Regarding the medical staff, the Minister of Health assured that the necessary specialists have already been secured. The unit will operate as a teaching hospital, with capacity for training, research and specialized health care," the statement from the department also said.
These visits served to assess the progress of the projects, as well as to verify compliance with the established deadlines.
