Francophone employability center opened on the UAN university campus

The Secretary of State for Science, Technology and Innovation, Alice de Fátima Ceita, inaugurated, this Thursday, a French-speaking employability center on the university campus of the Agostinho Neto University (UAN). The center, the result of a partnership with the Francophone University Agency (AUF), will increase the potential of the country's staff, as well as encourage the creation of micro-enterprises.

Among the laboratory's features is a digital intervention room with a dozen computers and a giant screen, called the digital field. According to Angop, it also has an intervention room for students, as well as another interconnection room aimed at connecting the 70 centers around the world.

Furthermore, the center also includes a laboratory that aims to promote the mobility of teachers and students with the more than 1000 higher education establishments that are linked to the aforementioned French-speaking entity.

The employability centers are one of the major strategic initiatives of the association of French-speaking universities, according to Alice de Fátima Ceita, who said she sees the partnership as a milestone for the viable progress of the United Nations 2030 agenda, the Government's governance program and the of national development for the period 2023-2027, writes Angop.

Thus, she said she was witnessing an "event of mutual interest", hoping that it would increase the "quality of higher education" and contribute to increasing employability.

"As can be seen, we are witnessing an event of mutual interest that, I hope, will increase the quality of higher education and contribute to increasing Employability", she said, in statements during the inauguration ceremony.

The secretary praised this initiative that will contribute to the strategic and sustained growth of human capital, ultimately reinforcing the supply of education and professional training, allowing citizens to have more years of schooling, better results in terms of learning, as well as more job opportunities, writes Angop.

The rector of Agostinho Neto University said that the creation of this center will help young people develop skills, considering that the issue of employability has turned into a gradual pandemic that could cause structural changes in global terms.

It should be noted that having been founded six decades ago, AUF currently assumes the role of the main university network in the world, with more than 1000 members, including universities, schools and research centers in more than 100 countries.
