According to the minister - who reported that there are currently approximately 31,000 undergraduate scholarship students - the aim is to award, per year, 10,000 new scholarships for undergraduate studies and 1,500 for postgraduate studies.
The holder of the Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation portfolio, cited by Angop, also considered that there is a need to improve the internal training offer, in order to meet the needs of the market, aiming to reduce the number of people unemployed resulting from the output profile is not adapted to its needs.
On the occasion, she also made it known that the ability to monitor scholarship holders abroad will be strengthened, informing them of their academic benefits.
Other announcements made by the minister were the creation of an employability observatory, also until 2027. This measure aims to allow for a process of supervision of students and, thus, define agreements with companies in order to create jobs, even if they are temporary.
The minister also made it known that there is a pilot project related to entrepreneurship, which has support from the Netherlands, covering four educational entities, with a view to creating a curriculum for entrepreneurship in higher education, so that establishments can introduce the mentioned discipline in the programs, writes Angop.
It is worth remembering that the 14th edition of CaféCIPRA had as its central theme the "Formation of Human Capital in the Country and in the Best Universities in the World: Goals and Results".
In addition to Maria do Rosário Bragança, the ministers of Public Administration, Labor and Social Security, Teresa Rodrigues, and of Education, Luísa Maria Grilo, and the director of the Staff Office of the President of the Republic, Edson Barreto, were also present.
