Luanda presents preliminary study for cable car in the capital

The Provincial Government of Luanda (GPL) presented a preliminary study for a cable car project in the capital, with the capacity to transport up to eight thousand users in both directions of each route.

According to a statement from GPL, this air transport system, which has the participation of the Portuguese company Casais, "intends to assist mobility in the urban area and surrounding areas"

The system includes Line 1, which comprises the areas of Bungo – São Paulo – Cidadela – Largo das Escolas, and Line 2, Largo das Escolas – Catambor, which will be covered in 15 minutes, with a transport capacity of up to 8 thousand users in both directions.

In addition to GPL, promoter of the initiative, Casais and the Austrian Doppelmayr participate in the project, "which, in the last 6 months, have dedicated themselves to carrying out the studies", according to the same statement.

The amounts of the project and studies were not disclosed.
