João Lourenço's invitation to Luís Montenegro for an official visit to Angola was made during the presence of the head of state in Portugal for the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the 25th of April.

João Lourenço made the announcement in a statement to the press, at the end of the meeting with Luís Montenegro, at the Portuguese prime minister's official residence.

"Although we have an obligation to never feel satisfied. We have to be ambitious to the point of wanting more and more," he added.

For João Lourenço, "the strengthening of friendly relations between Angola and Portugal is an ambition that is reciprocal. It belongs to Angola but it also belongs to Portugal".
