According to the announcement of the participation of the head of state in the event, made on the Mining Indaba website, the presence of João Lourenço "marks a significant step in the progress of Angola and its mining industry, which seeks to increase investment and attract more companies to explore the country's potentially rich mineral resources".

The Government of Angola is committed "to providing an investor-friendly environment for those interested in exploring the potential of its mining sector, while creating sustainable economic growth for all its citizens", says the announcement.

"President Lourenço's presence at Mining Indaba 2024 demonstrates this commitment, as well as his willingness to promote international collaboration between entrepreneurs interested in investing in the Angolan mining industry", adds the announcement.

Mining Indaba 2024 will have the motto 'Embrace the power of positive disruption: a bold new future for African mining', thus coinciding with the "disruptive measures taken by Angola to encourage mining investment and represents a strong example to stimulate investment in the country".

It should be noted that Mining Indaba is the largest mining investment event on the African continent, which takes place annually in South Africa, bringing together senior government representatives, mining companies, investors and where mining services and equipment are presented.
