"Here, where diamonds meet the community" will be the motto of the expo, which will feature a program comprised of thematic panels, conferences, and more.

"As part of the celebrations of the 30th anniversary of the Catoca Mining Society and the 50th anniversary of national independence, the 'Expo Catoca — 30 Years' will take place from August 26th to 28th, 2025, at the Luanda Base, Talatona, starting at 9:00 am, under the motto: Here, where diamonds meet the community," the company said in a statement that VerAngola had access to.

According to the company, the event "is a space for celebration, reflection, and sharing of the most important milestones in Catoca's history, reaffirming its commitment to sustainable development, technological innovation, and positive social impact in the communities where it operates."

Furthermore, the expo will also be an "opportunity to present the company's future projects, reinforcing its position as one of the largest diamond mining enterprises in Africa."

Thus, the event will bring together strategic partners, government representatives, investors, employees, and other guests in a program consisting of an institutional and technological exhibition; thematic panels and conferences; business networking sessions; and cultural presentations.

According to Angop, the company will invest one billion kwanzas to hold 'Expo Catoca – 30 Years.'

More than 60 exhibiting companies are expected to participate in this event, which is expected to receive an average of 500 visitors daily.

According to Francisco Bayila, the event coordinator, exhibitors can still register, as registration is still open.

He said the expo will represent not only a technical conference, but also a celebration of the company's achievements over the years, adding that one of the fair's objectives will be the company's formative role, responsible for the qualification of several of the country's top managers and technicians in the mining sector.

"The managers we have in the industry today came from the Catoca school," he said.

Relevant entities in the global diamond industry, such as the GIA (Gemological Institute of America) and the diamond exchanges of Antwerp, Dubai, and India, will be present at the expo, where admission costs 7500 kwanzas per day and is free for students, reports Angop.

According to the coordinator, part of the proceeds will be invested in social projects, prioritizing youth and female entrepreneurship. "We have chosen women as a priority at this stage and will continue investing in this area," he added.
