"The strengthening of relations of cooperation and friendship between Angola and Cape Verde brought the Cape Verdean Minister of Communities, Jorge Santos, to the Parliament, where he was received, in audience, by the acting president of the National Assembly, Américo Cuononoca", informs parliament, in a statement made available to VerAngola.
The Cape Verdean minister, speaking to the press, made it known that one of the "main objectives of his visit to Angola" is related to the opening of the procedure for obtaining nationality, for citizens of Cape Verdean origin, who were born outside the country , "free of charge and with some ease", says the statement.
Regarding the field of parliamentary collaboration, the official said that the two countries want to collaborate "in the process of legislative production and supervision of governance action".
Regarding bilateral cooperation, Jorge Santos mentioned the "launch of a program to support private investment aimed at citizens of Cape Verdean origin, residing abroad, in the sectors of tourism, transport, agriculture and information and communication technologies", reads up in the statement.
Thus, he explained that incentives are being created to attract investments in "important areas". "We are creating a set of incentives, whether fiscal or financial, to attract investment in important areas and take advantage of the technical-scientific knowledge of human capital to multiply investment by Cape Verdeans in host countries", he said, quoted in the note.
The minister also made it known that around 110,000 Cape Verdeans currently live in Angola.
