According to a statement from the Government of Cape Verde, Jorge Santos will take advantage of his contacts in Angola to present the executive's vision to the diaspora "and encourage Cape Verdeans to invest in the country, in the most diverse areas of development".
The focus of the mission is the process of attributing nationality to descendants of Cape Verdeans in the country and the minister will meet representatives of the community in the two main Angolan cities: Luanda and Benguela.
The trip to Angola takes place close to Cape Verde's Independence Day, which is celebrated on the 5th of July, so the moment will be used to hold the 2nd edition of the "Feira das Ilhas".
This initiative, which began in 2019, "aims to disseminate Cape Verdean culture in Angola, as well as give participants the opportunity to publicize their businesses, initiatives and projects and promote unity between Cape Verdeans and interaction with the Angolans".
The minister's agenda also foresees meetings with official Angolan entities.
