The official, speaking at 4 de Fevereiro International Airport, as part of her trip to the city of Praia (Cape Verde), made it known that they would "renew the existing cooperation agreement".
"We are going to renew the existing cooperation agreement that establishes parameters related to the positioning of the two countries in the international context and measures to modernize our institutions, as well as exchange experiences within the framework of the CPLP", she indicated, quoted in a communiqué from parliament, which VerAngola had access.
The president of the National Assembly, adds the note, "defends that the fact that the two States share the same language brings them even closer", showing herself to be "optimistic" regarding the success of this mission.
"Relations between the two legislative bodies are fruitful, characterized by a good relationship and we believe that ties will be stronger after our meeting", she added.
On the work agenda of the national delegation, emphasis is placed on the cooperation protocol between the two bodies. "The highest point of the work program of the Angolan parliamentary delegation will be the signing of the Cooperation Protocol between the two sovereign bodies, as well as participation in the Solemn Session of the National Assembly of Cape Verde", reads the statement.
It is also planned to hold "a courtesy meeting with the President of the Republic of Cape Verde, the Prime Minister and his counterpart from that Portuguese-speaking country".
In addition, according to the statement, parliamentarians will also be able to visit "Santa Catarina, a county with landscapes of rare natural beauty and with locations of particular interest".
"Angola and Cape Verde are linked by strong ties of cooperation. Standing out, among the various protocols signed by the two States, are visa-free agreements, technical cooperation agreements in various areas, such as Education, Defence, Oil, Diplomacy, Agriculture, Transport, Finance and Administration", says the note.
The national delegation includes the first secretary of the National Assembly, Manuel Dembo, the president of the UNITA parliamentary group, Liberty Chiyaka, MPLA deputy Mário Pinto de Andrade and the president of the Humanist Party of Angola, Florbela Malaquias.
