Walter Pacheco, who was speaking on the sidelines of the opening ceremony for trading shares of Banco Angolano de Investimento (BAI) on the stock exchange, said that the country is "gaining much confidence from international markets".

According to the chairman of Bodiva's executive committee, this year Angola registered a transaction worth 10 million dollars and a second transaction two weeks ago, with "accumulated interest of approximately dollars 600 million to invest in Angola".

The official stressed that this is an investment aimed essentially at public debt.

"And the public debt process has a slightly longer investment procedure, but clearly there is [investment interest]. Angola is gaining a lot of confidence from international markets and the proof was given with this operation that took place", he stressed. .

According to Walter Pacheco, the process for a foreign investor in the capital market in Angola is easier than it was three years ago.

"If the foreign investor wanted to invest in the capital market in Angola, he had to go through a licensing process, he had to identify himself with the BNA [National Bank of Angola], present the documents, and any flow would have to be licensed, that is, , at the time of paying he had to license the import of capital, at the time of receiving dividends or interest he had to license this process", he explained.

Currently, he continued, the process is simplified, the only requirement being to have an account opened in Angola for statistical reasons.

"For private operations, this is no longer the case. An investor who wants to buy BAI shares does not need to register his operation with the BNA", he stressed.
