According to the diplomat, the signing of an agreement in the civil aviation sector between the two countries opened the door for the UAE airline to start flying directly from Abu Dhabi to Luanda.
Without giving dates for the beginning of the air link between the two countries, the ambassador said only that Etihad Airways will start operating the Abu Dhabi-Luanda-Abu Dhabi route soon, Angop reported.
The information was advanced at the end of a meeting between Khalid Salem Ali Bin Almheiri and Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos, president of the Parliament.
According to Angop, the meeting also discussed the agreements between Angola and UAE that aim to stimulate trade.
The UAE also left an invitation to Angola: the country was invited to be a member of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace.
"We invite Angola to be a member of that Parliament. We will soon have (...) a participant from the Angolan Parliament in the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace," the ambassador informed.
