The figures were advanced in a statement by the Ministry of Health, which revealed that the vaccines were purchased under the Covax initiative.

The holder of the health portfolio guaranteed that the country has the conditions required for the conservation of this vaccine, namely for handling and conservation in ultra-cold chambers.

"In compliance with the National Vaccination Plan and looking at the exposed target audience, these vaccines are aimed at taxi drivers, bus drivers and people in the strategic industry of our economy, who are also part of the first vaccination stage," said the minister, in a statement to which VerAngola had access.

So far, the country has already acquired vaccines from AstraZeneca, Sinopharm, Sputnik V and Pfizer. Angola administered from 2 March to 31 May one million and 750 thousand doses of vaccines against covid-19.

34,366 cases of the disease were recorded, of which 764 died, 27,776 recovered and 5826 were active, including 14 in critical condition and 47 severe.
