“Beyond My Steps” voted best documentary at the Arquiteturas Film Festival

The films "Beyond My Steps", by Kamy Lara and Paula Agostinho, and "Air Conditioning", by Fradique, are among the winners of the Arquiteturas Film Festival, which ended on Sunday, and this Tuesday had the awards announced.

The prize for best documentary at the festival was awarded to the Angolan film "Para beyond my steps", about contemporary dance in Angola and about the creative process and the relationship of a group of dancers with the territory of Luanda.

"Boys of the edge" by Alexandra Leibmann (Germany) won the new talent award, and "Cities (Territories & Occupation)" by Gusztáv Hámos, Katja Pratschke, also from Germany, was voted best experimental film.

Another highlight was "Air Conditioning", an Angolan production by Fradique and Jorge Cohen, voted the festival's best fiction, while the audience's prize went to the Romanian film "Acasa, my home", by Radu Ciorniciuc.

The eighth edition of the Arquiteturas Film Festival took place at Cinema São Jorge, in Lisbon, and was dedicated to Angola, "a country where history and the succession of regimes had their translation in architecture and collective memory", in a choice curated by the journalist, writer and producer Marta Lança, editor of the Buala platform.
