"Beyond My Steps" wins best documentary award at San Francisco Dance Film Festival

Two angolan films, the feature film "Air Conditioning" and the documentary "Beyond My Steps", were awarded prizes at two international film festivals.

The film "Air Conditioning" won the award for best film in the category 'Science New Wave' at the 13th edition of Imagine Science Film Festival 2020. The documentary "Beyond My Steps" won the award for best documentary at the 11th edition of the San Francisco Dance Film Festival 2020.

In the latter, the jury highlighted the cinematography of the documentaries, indicating that it is composed of beautiful images and conveys the idea that dance can have a significant impact on everyone's life.

Bornito de Sousa, vice-president of the Republic, took the opportunity to congratulate the cast of the documentary for the award.

The ruler expressed an "enormous satisfaction and pride" for the award collected. An award that "fills with pride the Angolans and, in particular, the youth and the world of arts and their precursors," said Bornito de Sousa, in a note, quoted by Angop.

In the note, the vice-president also highlighted the "difficult moment" that the artistic world is going through due to the covid-19 pandemic, highlighting the importance of these distinctions.
