According to Osvaldo Caumbulo, group administrator, the investment in the school furniture production plant is due in large part to more than a dozen orders from individual portfolio schools.
"We are guiding and following the rules of the World Health Organization (WHO), because we believe that individual portfolios will be the solution for the future," said the official to OPaís.
The factory unit, located in Benfica (Luanda), has the capacity to produce 600 portfolios per day, with production currently around 400 daily units: 300 individual portfolios and 100 double portfolios.
Also according to the official, about 90 percent of the raw material used is national, from wood to iron, passing through other materials for finishing.
Portfolio prices vary between 23,000 and 28,000 kwanzas per unit. In the post-sale period, the manufacturing unit guarantees maintenance services within one year, in order to guarantee greater equipment durability.
In addition to the manufacture of school furniture, Jiretours also produces equipment for offices, churches, libraries and museums.
The expansion is part of the company's plans, which aims to open representations in the provinces and internationalize to the Democratic Republic of Congo.
