In a statement issued this Wednesday, after a board meeting, in which distance learning was one of the topics on the agenda, the CE-CPLP informs that "the Institute for the Training of Portuguese Speaking Countries (IFCPLP), in partnership with CE-CPLP, Optimiza Brasil and Residência Educação is offering one million accesses for totally free courses for initial and continuing training and professional qualification ".
"The idea is to give people the chance to evolve professionally, even during the Covid-19 pandemic", adds the same note.
The courses offered are in the areas of school meals, pharmacy, security, works, logistics, planning, quality control, among others.
For this reason, the CE-CPLP delegate and president of Optimiza Brasil, Bertrand Dupont, considered that "it is important that the courses are disseminated to as many people as possible", in all countries of the community.
At the meeting, according to the same note, the leaders of the CE-CPLP, chaired by Mozambican businessman Salimo Abdula, also discussed the creation of an Arbitral Tribunal and the provision of services to businessmen from the nine CPLP member states.
"Concerned with the resolution of conflicts and seeking to privilege the foreign trade of small businesses between the countries of the group, the leaders also spoke again about the constitution of the Arbitral Tribunal of the CE-CPLP", they state in the statement.
To this end, business representatives from the nine States that make up the CPLP were invited to nominate a member from each of these to join the commission that will be responsible for the work.
The president of CACB (Confederation of Brazilian Trade and Business Associations), George Pinheiro, and vice president of CE-CPLP, appointed the coordinator of the Brazilian Chamber of Business Mediation and Arbitration (CBMAE) of the Confederation, Eduardo Vieira, for the task , the document says.
Still at the meeting, the group discussed the possibility of a partnership with the African Development Bank (AfDB) and actions that the confederation can develop to offer new services to community entrepreneurs.
"This may be the theme of the sustainability pillar of our objectives as a Confederation," said Salimo Abdula, when informing that he intends to hold a special meeting on the subject, the note said.
CPLP Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Mozambique, Portugal, São Tomé and Príncipe and Timor-Leste are members.
