The measure was revealed on the same day that Angola announced the highest number of positive cases of the disease - 15 - bringing the number of infected to 212.
A joint executive decree of the Ministries of Health and Interior, published this Friday in Diário da República, determines the extension of the sanitary fence in the province of Luanda, where 198 of these cases were registered, from 00:00 on 26 June until 23:59 on the day July 10, 2020.
The diploma that speaks of a "worrying situation" with a risk of rapid spread, which may give rise to new transmission chains in neighboring areas, underlines the need to adopt "urgent measures" in the province of Luanda, within the scope of the declaration of public calamity.
During the period in which the health fence is in effect, the province's borders are subject to health control, safeguarding the entry and exit of essential goods and services, as well as patients and humanitarian aid and "other situations to be determined by the competent authorities" .
