Covid-19 in Angola: men most affected by coronavirus

Men are the most affected by covid-19 in the country. According to national official statistics, of the 86 confirmed positive cases in the country, 53 are male citizens aged between zero and over 60.

The data shows that since the outbreak started in the country in March, only 33 women have been infected - minus 20 male infections.

In addition, according to the statistical bulletin released on Sunday, cited by Angop, all the deaths registered in the country (four) are male.

According to the statistics, the most common symptom among infected patients is cough (27 percent), followed by fever above 38 degrees and headache (affecting 14 percent of patients), also showing respiratory difficulty (13 percent). Of those infected, 89 percent have no symptoms.

The epicenter of the disease remains the capital, with the municipality of Talatona being the most positive case so far (28), followed by Cazenga (21) and Maianga with 14 positive patients.

The data also indicate that the last week of May was the one with the most cases since the beginning of the outbreak in the country, with 21 confirmed positive cases.
