The manager, who was speaking on the sidelines of a visit to two factories in the Special Economic Zone, quoted by Novo Jornal, revealed that the assets had been idle for about 10 years and were sold during the past year.

The aim of these privatisation processes "is to give another dynamic to economic activity, to pass on assets that were under the tutelage of the State and many of them with low levels of exploitation, to the private sector, because it is understood at international level that the private sector is able to exploit investment projects more efficiently".

The State currently intends 23 privatisation projects. According to Angop, the State wants to privatise a total of 195 assets by 2022.
