The new hotel unit – opened by OnTour, the hotel management company of the Omatapalo Group – is located in an old agricultural structure.

"The result of an investment of more than 7.5 billion kwanzas, the lodge offers 23 exclusive suites, carefully integrated into an old agricultural structure from the first half of the 20th century," says a statement sent to VerAngola, which adds that "the building was restored with historical rigor, preserving the original structure and keeping all the surrounding vegetation intact."

Among its many features, the unit offers a varied set of experiences, such as safaris and open-air cinema.

"Among the available experiences, we highlight safaris, horseback riding, buggy rides, farm visits, ecological trails, gastronomic workshops, open-air cinema, dinners in the fire pit, among other immersive experiences, to promote a deep connection with the region", says the note.

As for jobs, the project created 22 direct jobs and more than 40 indirect jobs, thus contributing to the dynamism of the local economy.

"With a focus on valuing human capital, training actions were implemented that aim to train not only the hotel unit's employees, but also the entire community linked to the project. In parallel, sustainable practices were integrated into all areas of the operation, to strengthen the responsible and environmentally conscious management model", the note also says.

The Minister of Tourism, Márcio Daniel, who presided over the inauguration ceremony, highlighted the "role of the enterprise in the development of national tourism".

The lodge's director said that the hotel was born from the "conviction that tourism can and should be a force for positive transformation".

"Mumba Lodge was born from our conviction that tourism can and should be a force for positive change. We seek to combine the comfort of contemporary hotels with the authenticity of the Angolan countryside, creating a space that reflects the local identity. Every detail was thought out to provide our guests with an unforgettable experience. More than a destination, Mumba Lodge represents a commitment to nature, people and the future," said Julante Agostinho, director of Mumba Lodge.

Institutional representatives, strategic partners, members of the local community, national and international guests were also present at the event.

Mumba Lodge Features

According to a statement from the Ministry of Tourism, to which VerAngola had access, in addition to the 23 rooms, the space has a restaurant, swimming pool, gym, among others.

"Built on the premises of an old tobacco dryer, the Mumba Lodge has 23 rooms, including one suite, four superior rooms and 18 standard rooms", says the note, which adds: "Immersed in nature and bathed by the Cubango River, the space brings together a restaurant with a terrace and outdoor barbecue, a lobby bar, pool bar, gym, spa, sauna, among other amenities".

In addition to the above activities, according to the government, the accommodation also has "activities available such as hot air balloon rides, trails, artisanal cigar production", etc.

It is also worth noting that Fazenda Mumba is in the spotlight internationally after being chosen as the backdrop for the Portuguese soap opera 'Fazenda'. "Mumba Farm also gained international prominence by being chosen as the setting for the soap opera 'Fazenda', a production by the Portuguese channel TVI, reinforcing the media visibility of the territory and contributing to projecting the region as a tourist destination of excellence", states the statement sent to VerAngola.

In addition to this accommodation, OnTour, which also manages the Flow Hotel Benguela, is preparing to "open the Flow Hotel Luanda Aeroporto".
