This transport was carried out with Network Aviation Group's Boeing 747-400F freighter, TAAG said in a statement sent to VerAngola.
Quoted in the note, David Ambridge, director of Cargo and Mail at TAAG, highlighted that last Friday's flight carried the airline's "largest cargo" since the resumption of "this flight".
"This represents not only a vital link between the European Union and Angola, especially for the oil and gas industries, but also for other companies that have huge loads and cannot manage it through regular passenger flights from Lisbon. The May 3 flight carried our largest load since the restart of this flight and gives us confidence that economic agents are recognizing the value of this weekly flight to Luanda", he said.
According to the company, since March, "cargo operations have facilitated the transport of more than 350,000 kilograms on various routes, covering national, regional and international destinations".
With this milestone, the company says it reinforces "its commitment to facilitating the promotion of the Luanda 'hub', providing international connections and import/export channels and support to the industry, also meeting the digitalization plan of the cargo business, streamlining its services and Angola's growth plans", the note reads.
According to the flag carrier, the Boeing 747-400F freighter has a "carrying capacity of up to 105 tons of large and sized material", such as "parts up to 20 meters in length" which can be loaded in "agile on the aircraft" way.
