According to a statement sent to VerAngola, the two Angolans are competing, in this nomination that places them among the most influential leaders in the industrial sector in Africa, for the award with two other competitors.

Thus, Benedito Manuel and Edson dos Santos are also joined by Sékou Dramé from Senegal and Dieudonne Kasembo Nyembo from the Democratic Republic of Congo.

"The nomination of Benedito Manuel by African Leadership Magazine is a well-deserved recognition of the positive impact that the manager and his institution have had in Angola and the African continent. This distinction reflects the ongoing commitment to excellence, innovation and social responsibility that are the pillars of Sociedade Mineira de Catoca", reads the statement, which recalls that under the leadership of Benedito Manuel, Sociedade Mineira de Catoca has stood out "not only as the largest private economic agent in Angola, but also as a example of corporate social responsibility".

In turn, in a brief note, to which VerAngola had access, Etu Energias announced the appointment of its PCA.

"His nomination for the awards aligns with African Leadership Magazine's (ALM) commitment to highlighting the continent's leadership achievements that are often ignored by the global media," the note reads.

Voting, which is now open, runs until this Wednesday, ending at midnight.
