The documents were signed on Friday in Boston, in the northeastern United States, during an official visit by a delegation led by the Minister of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, Diamantino Azevedo, and which included representatives of public companies in the sector, administrators and senior staff.
The instruments, called MIT Industrial Liaison Program (MIT-ILP) and MIT Africa, cover areas such as natural resources and mining, energy, engineering, construction and infrastructure, through programs such as Global Classroom and Global Teaching Labs.
According to Sonangol, the agreements have an impact in the short, medium and long term, structured around strategic axes that include higher education, knowledge transfer, mentoring, joint scientific research, energy transition, decarbonization solutions and technological innovation projects.
The oil company stressed that the partnership with MIT is part of the efforts to modernize and diversify the Angolan energy sector, aligning with global sustainability goals and the development of technical and scientific skills in the country.
On the Angolan side, the contracts were signed by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sonangol, Sebastião Gaspar Martins, while MIT was represented by Executive Vice President Glan Shor.
