According to a statement from the Ministry of Economy and Planning, which VerAngola had access to, the "startups with the best solutions for the three challenges launched at the event, with the aim of encouraging young Angolan entrepreneurs", were awarded.

Thus, the 'MEP Challenge' category was won by Toque Média. "In the 'MEP Challenge', the Ministry of Economy and Planning awarded the prize of 10 million kwanzas to Toque Média, which presented an innovative solution for the catering sector", reads the statement.

In turn, the winner of the 'Governor Challenge' category – created by the Government of the Province of Luanda – was Baika Pay, having won the prize of 10 million kwanzas for presenting "the best technological solution for the problem of parking in the city of Luanda".

In the 'BCI Challenge' category, it was won by the "startup INOKU, which presented the best technological solution for agribusiness, called SIA".

"The Bank of Commerce and Industry (BCI) also awarded 10 million kwanzas to the startup INOKU, which presented the best technological solution for agribusiness, called SIA (Integrated Agrarian System). BCI will monitor the startup until the period of maturation", says the statement.

In addition to the monetary value, the winners will also benefit from business plans, offered by Deloitte.

"The multinational, Deloitte, offered business plans to the winning startups, and PwC undertook to provide legal, accounting and management consultancy to the winning startups. KPMG offered the internationalization of the BCI Challenge winners, whom it will take to Lisbon to participate in the Web Summit 2023", reads the note.

The general manager of Toque Média, Célio Garcia, explained their technological solution, which is capable of reading restaurant menus using a QR code. "The customer arrives at the restaurant, sits at the table, at each table he has the QR code, he takes his phone and reads the QR code with the camera. If he has not installed the application, the application reads the web version and in the web version he has the dishes, drinks, he can put a kind of cart and from there he submits the order. He can choose the payment methods that exist in the market", he said, quoted by Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA).

In turn, the person in charge of Baika Pay, Lino Muengue, clarified that his system "will organize and identify the parks", meaning "that even before the driver goes to the city of Luanda, he can depart" from system "go in and try to identify free parks, whether public or private in the area where you want to travel".

"We will have a follow-up of specialists linked to the area and with this value that our startup has gained, we will be able, part of that value, to invest more in the solution with regard to the development and principle of some solutions that are also related to the same area", he added, quoted by RNA.

The national director for the Economy and Business Promotion of the Ministry of Economy and Planning, Nédio dos Santos, considered the event positive. "As for the macro and micro objectives of the 2nd edition of the Angola Startup Summit, it was positive because the message was passed on, that we have young Angolans with skills, knowledge, and that from now on they will have all that are flaws, all that which are challenges and imbalances in the said market, these young people, based on innovation and technology, will then transform these failures and balances into opportunities", he indicated, quoted by RNA.
